Walk in the Name of the Lord

For all the peoples walk each in the name of its god, but we will walk in the name of the Lord our God forever and ever.
Micah 4:5 (ESV)
When you march forth into the fray, whose name is etched upon your banner for the opposing forces to see? Do you bear the name of your job? Your nationality? Your reputation? Your financial success? Or is the name of Yahweh emblazoned upon your standards, glowing in the darkest night?
Do your banners have a “hook-and-loop” system so you can exchange one name for another day in and day out? Or is the name of the Lord hemmed in, fastened with a backstitch that cannot be removed?
Do not walk with the nation of frivolous idols, seeking power from “gods” made of dust. Walk in the name of the Lord our God, whose name stands forever. Bearing His name, walk and act in a manner worthy of the nation of Heaven. You are called out as a holy people, set apart for His service and agenda. Be holy, just as He is holy (Leviticus 11:44).
